Living in Florida, I am drawn to nature’s constant coming together and falling apart. The beauty is quieter here, revealed only when you get up close. It is not the same as the majestic Colorado Rockies or the wind-swept northwest coast. On Florida’s west coast, there is sugary white sand, turquoise water, and warm tropical breezes. “The nature of life is to come together for a short beautiful period, then fall apart to go make other beauty.” Writing is like this, sometimes it comes together and works, while other times it doesn’t. I use writing to make sense of change, to make sense of beauty. It seems to transitory. The struggle is to use creativity to make our messages feel less generic, less sterile and less homogenous like we read and see constantly now with artificial intelligence.
